When will the next installment of PM Kisan Yojana come? Government issued new advisory

When will farmers get the 21st installment?

Under the direction of the Centre, a comprehensive registration and verification campaign has been launched by the state governments for farmers across the country. The campaign aims to encourage farmers to register for the Centre’s flagship PM-Kisan scheme, which provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments.

More than 10 crore farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 21st installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan Yojana). Earlier it was expected that an installment of Rs 2,000 would come into the accounts of farmers before Diwali. Now news is coming that the government will release the next installment in the first week of November, just before the Bihar Assembly elections. However, this is just speculation and the government has not yet announced any official date.

What did the Union Agriculture Minister say on PM-Kisan?

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently announced that the next installment of Rs 2,000 will soon be deposited in the accounts of eligible farmers. He has urged all state governments to complete Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC and other necessary formalities and send the verified list of beneficiaries to the Central Government to avoid delays in the payment process.

Earlier during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Chauhan had said that many farmers do farming in the border areas, but the records of their land ownership are incomplete. If the state governments verify and send the names of such farmers, then they will also get the benefit of this scheme. About 18 days after this visit, the Central Government transferred Rs 171 crore to the accounts of more than 8.5 lakh farmers of Jammu and Kashmir as the 21st installment.

When can the 21st installment come?

According to various reports, the central government may release the 21st installment in the first week of November. Reports quoting sources say that this announcement may be made a few days before the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections (November 6). The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases, on November 6 and 11, and counting of votes will take place on November 14.

Questions regarding payment amid model code of conduct

Model Code of Conduct is currently in force in Bihar, so many people might be wondering whether the government can make any payment during this period. So, the answer is yes. New schemes cannot be announced during the Model Code of Conduct, but payments under already approved schemes (such as PM Kisan) can continue. Therefore, if the technical formalities are completed between the state and central governments, the funds can be deposited into the accounts of the farmers.

The 21st installment of PM-Kisan has already been released in many states.

Interestingly, the Central Government has already released the 21st installment in some states. On September 26, 2025, the Agriculture Minister released this installment to the farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Advance relief was provided to these states to compensate for the damage caused by floods and landslides. On October 7, 2025, farmers of Jammu and Kashmir also got the 21st installment. This indicates that the Central Government has phased out the process of releasing the installments and the remaining states can be paid in November.

Government’s warning – these farmers will not get the next PM-Kisan installment

The Agriculture Ministry has clarified that farmers who have not completed e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding or bank account linking will not get the 21st installment. State governments have been directed to complete the eligibility verification and send the updated list of beneficiaries as soon as possible.
