A video of a leopard pouncing on a female traveler during a safari in Karnataka’s Bannerghatta National Park has gone viral on social media. This scary incident happened when the tourists were roaming in a special closed vehicle inside the park to see the animals. This footage was shared by PTI journalist Elizabeth Kurian on social media.
Leopard put its paw inside the bus
In the video, it can be seen that the leopard is trying to attack through the mesh window of the safari bus in the National Park. Officials said that a 50-year-old woman named Vahita Banu, who was part of the tourist group, was the victim of this attack. Officials also said that after giving first aid, he was immediately admitted to a private hospital for further treatment. In the video, the leopard is seen trying to attack the woman by climbing onto the safari bus and clawing at the window. The leopard tore a part of the woman’s clothes. He suffered a deep wound on his left hand from the leopard’s claw. The incident happened last Thursday (13.9.’25) during the afternoon leopard safari.

After this, questions started being raised regarding the safety of animals in national parks. Many people said that the leopard that attacked the woman was injured. Questions were also raised regarding the safety of visitors including feeding the animals. Onlookers told that the woman was injured in the leopard attack and the sound of children crying was coming from the car. Some people demanded that animals do not belong to humans and should be left alone. At the same time, some others demanded that the forest department should ensure at least minimum security during such trips.
