In the changing weather, children’s immunity i.e. the protective power of the body can weaken quickly. Sudden increase in temperature, change in humidity in the air and excess dust increases the risk of cough in children. Mixing of children with each other in school, going to crowded places and staying near children suffering from cold and cough also cause the infection to spread rapidly. In this season, swelling and sticky mucus may accumulate in the throat tubes, due to which the child coughs again and again. This season creates more problems for children who suffer from allergies or frequent cold.
Cough It is not right to ignore it considering it as ordinary. As persistent cough increases, irritation and pain in the throat increases. The infection can go down and reach the chest and the child may have difficulty in breathing, disrupted sleep, fatigue and weakness. Due to prolonged cough, appetite also decreases, due to which the child stops eating half the food and the body does not get proper energy. Sometimes problems like blocked nose, ear pain, sinus problem, fever and excessive swelling in the throat can also increase along with cough. If you do not pay attention on time, this situation can become serious.
Ayurveda is effective in cough
Dr. R.P. of Ayurveda in Delhi Government. Parashar It is said that in case of cough in children, it is considered necessary to balance the body, keep warm and relax the throat tubes. At this time, giving lightly boiled water of basil leaves, honey mixed with a little turmeric and very light ginger juice is considered helpful in soothing the throat. These things can also help in thinning the mucus and expelling it.
Children should not be given very cold things, ice, refrigerator water and fried food at this time, as this can increase cold and cough. Light warm water, simple food, lentils and rice, hot homemade soup and seasonal fruits keep digestion easy and the body recovers quickly. Applying mustard oil mixed with celery and lightly heated on the child’s chest or back at night provides relief. If the cough does not subside within 3-4 days, the child seems restless or has difficulty in breathing, then it is important to immediately consult a doctor.
