What is going on at the seat where Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister is standing? Latest trends are shocking

BJP’s Sanjeev Chaurasia is having a big lead in Digha Assembly elections 2025. Sushant Singh Rajput’s cousin and CPI(ML) candidate Divya Gautam is in second place. Initial trends are indicating a strong comeback of BJP.

Patna: As soon as the counting of votes for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 started this morning, Digha seat became the center of political discussions. Here the contest is not just between two candidates, but also between emotions, popularity and political ground. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s cousin and CPI(ML) candidate Divya Gautam entered the electoral fray for the first time and made a lot of headlines during the campaign right from the beginning. But the trends that have emerged after the counting of votes started have made the picture clear.

Sanjeev Chaurasia ahead with a lead of 43,152 votes

BJP’s sitting MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia from Digha assembly seat is once again seen in a strong position. After completion of 26 rounds of counting, he got 80,801 votes. Whereas, Divya Gautam has got 37,649 votes. That means Sanjeev Chaurasia is leading with a huge lead of 43,152 votes. A total of 36 rounds are to be counted, so the final results will be revealed after some time, but the trends are clearly indicating that BJP’s hold on Digha seat is still strong.

Big victory was recorded in 2020 also

Sanjeev Chaurasia’s dominance was clearly visible in the 2020 elections on Digha seat also. At that time he had got 97,044 votes, while CPI(ML) candidate Shashi Yadav had got 50,971 votes. This time too CPI(ML) has expressed confidence in the woman candidate, but trends show that the contest is becoming one-sided.

Why is competition becoming difficult for Divya Gautam?

Divya Gautam’s candidature definitely added an emotional aspect to the elections and she also got a lot of recognition in the name of Sushant Singh Rajput. But BJP’s long-standing hold on Digha seat and Sanjeev Chaurasia’s land-related politics, both proved to be a challenge for Divya.

Now eyes on the final results

The final picture will not be clear until the 36 rounds of counting are completed, but based on the trends so far, it is clear that BJP is in a position to recapture the Digha seat. Divya Gautam definitely remains in second place, but the increasing gap has made the path very difficult for her.
