Avideo of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut is getting viral on social media which she can be seen confronting government officials over the slow progress of development projects in her constituency Mandi.
The video is from her DISHA committee meeting in Himachal Pradesh.
While raising questions over nearly ₹11 crore allocated under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), Kangana asked for expenditure reports and asked the officials that stop giving repeated assurance.
Kangana Questions Delayed Use of MPLADS Funds
Kangana Ranaut said she had repeatedly been told in DISHA meetings that there were no major hurdles in implanting the projects and around 90 percent of MPLADS funds had been used. However, now she claimed that the figures that are being presented at meeting is totally different from what told to her.
According to reports form the meeting, Kangana asked around ₹11 crore had been allotted for development works, but only a small part of it has been used. She said that less than Rs 1 crore had been spent by March-April, while only around Rs 50-60 lakh against Rs 5.50 Crores.
“Don’t give me these useless jumlas (fake promises). I’m getting them at every Disha Committee meeting,” Ranaut told officials.
‘Get The Bloody Job Done’: MP Demands Results
Kangana Ranaut who is MP from Mandi, said several projects had been pending since last two years. She said that administrative issue, including land availability and permissions had contributed to delay.
Kangana even questioned withdrawing funds when required land and approvals have not been in place. She asked the officials to identify the projects and speed up.
“Get the bloody job done now. The time for ‘addressing’ things is gone. Those are two-year-old matters. Those are one-and-a-half to two-year-old matters. Now get the job done and report to me that this is done! Kangana allocated Rs 11 crore, yet not a single piece of work was carried out. It is so incompetent, so wretched,” she said.
