Video: This is the best catch of the World Cup? South African player created panic in the semi-finals

The South African team, which came to India with the hopes of winning the World Cup title for the first time, performed strongly in the entire tournament. This team, captained by Temba Bavuma, won 7 matches in the league stage and secured second place and made its place in the semi-finals. However, in the semi-finals against his old rival Australia, his batting once again disappointed and the entire team could score only 212 runs. Now to save such a small score, the team needed good bowling and fielding. Rassie van der Dussen contributed fully to this.

A day after Team India defeated New Zealand in Mumbai, all eyes were on which team it would face in the final. For this, the decision was to be taken by the clash between South Africa and Australia at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. For the third time after the 1999 and 2007 World Cups, both the teams faced each other in the semi-finals. Once again, the Australian bowlers were brilliant as they bowled out South Africa for just 212 runs.

Rasi Van der Dussen becomes Superman

In response, David Warner and Travis Head gave their team a fast start and crossed 50 runs in just 6 overs. Here Aiden Markram took the first wicket by dismissing Warner. However, the threat to South Africa had not diminished as in-form Mitchell Marsh came to the crease. Now this is where Rassie van der Dussen did something which South Africa needed the most. Marsh hit a sharp cover drive off Kagiso Rabada, but Rasi present there made a long dive in the air to his right and created a stir by taking a sensational catch.

the rest disappointed

The result was that Marsh could not even open his account and due to the fall of 2 wickets in 2 consecutive overs, South Africa got a chance to make a comeback. However, it was not that South Africa’s fielding remained completely agile. Substitute fielders Reeza Hendricks and Heinrich Klaasen dropped head catches. Both these catches were a bit difficult but while defending the small score, the team was in dire need of taking such catches.
