40 laborers are trapped inside the tunnel in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand for two days. The work of removing the debris is going on, but the entrance of the tunnel is still closed. It is a matter of relief that the workers trapped inside the tunnel have been contacted. Sabah Ahmed, a resident of Bhojpur, Bihar, is also trapped inside the tunnel, whose family is praying for his safety. Ever since the family members got the news of this accident, they have stopped eating and drinking. The tears are not stopping from the father’s eyes.
Sabah Ahmed is a resident of Peur village of Sahar police station area. Sabah’s father Misbah Ahmed told that his son has been working in Navyuga company for 14 years. He is a supervisor in the company. I used to talk to my son daily on mobile, but when I called him on Sunday, there was no contact. The same day, a call came from a boy named Rahul and he told that there was a landslide inside the tunnel, due to which Sabah was trapped inside.
My only wish is that the child should come back safely from the tunnel – father said
Father Misbah Ahmed said that ever since we got information about the accident, we have not eaten anything. We are praying that the child comes back safely from the tunnel. Not only the family, the entire village is worried. Misbah told that on Monday morning he was made to talk to his son trapped in the tunnel through a conference call. He told that he is fine. Relief and rescue work is going on.
Working in the company for 14 years
According to Misbah, the son has been working in the company for the last 14 years. He has been working on the tunnel project for two years. The son’s marriage took place in the year 2016. His wife’s name is Sabiha Khatun and he also has three children.
Rescue operation continues for two days
This accident took place in the tunnel being built on Brahmakhal-Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Rescue operation is going on on war footing to take out the laborers trapped inside. Four laborers from Bihar are included among the laborers trapped in the tunnel. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached the spot and took stock of the rescue and relief operations.
