Uttarkashi: Situation inside the tunnel is changing every moment, full responsibility lies on the auger machine.

All the agencies of the Central Government are making efforts to rescue the 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel of Uttarkashi. These workers are trapped in the under-construction tunnel since Diwali (12th November). On Friday, it had been 13 days since the workers were trapped inside the tunnel. Amidst all this, NDMA member Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain said that this operation is very difficult and challenging. In such a situation, every step is being taken cautiously. Any kind of loss can be avoided. Special care is being taken during the entire rescue operation.

Syed Ata Hasnain said that the biggest responsibility of this mission is on the auger machine. Till now we are slowly getting success with that machine. There was some problem with the auger machine on Friday. Once the auger was stressed, due to which its base was also greatly affected. He said that at the moment everything seems to be happening in the right direction.

Pipe pushing work going on at a fast pace

The work of pushing the most important pipe inside the tunnel is also going on at a very fast pace. He said that compared to before, we are not far away from the workers. Despite this, when, where and what kind of obstacle may arise. It is difficult to say. This is the reason why work is being done with caution at present.

NDRF soldiers are practicing

Syed Ata Hasnain said that work is being done on how to evacuate the workers here. Regularly NDRF soldiers are practicing for this. Some soldiers were also sent inside. Once the tunnel opens, paramedic staff will also be sent.

Help is being received from these states in rescue operation

Meanwhile, NHAI member Vishal Chauhan said that since Friday till now our efforts are going in the right direction. He said that we are hopeful of good results. Vishal said that along with the Central Government, many state governments are also getting a lot of support in this mission. States have also employed many agencies from their own level. Equipment has come from many states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand. The effort is to reach the workers as soon as possible.
