The youth had reached Khudana village of Saharanpur on Friday night with a wedding procession from Karnal in Haryana. During the wedding ceremony, people from the girl’s side gave Rs 51 lakh to the groom Abhay Pratap. The young man and his family returned all the money to the girl’s side, terming the dowry system as a social evil. After this the groom performed the ritual with just one rupee and a coconut.
