A unique case has come to light in Banda district of UP, which turned a wedding ceremony into an uproar in no time. The mandap was decorated, everything looked perfect amid the music and the sound of Shehnai. But as soon as the time for Jayamala came, the bride took a decision which no one had even imagined. Seeing the groom drunk, the bride flatly refused to marry and returned from the pavilion. Within no time the atmosphere of happiness turned into anger and chaos.

Sanju Verma’s marriage was fixed in Gauri Kala village of Pailani tehsil of Banda district with Shyamu, a resident of Azampur in Chandpur police station area of Fatehpur district. On December 4, the procession reached the village with much fanfare and all the rituals were going on. But most of the wedding guests were under the influence of alcohol and the groom Shyamu also appeared drunk.

The bride changed her decision as soon as she reached the stage
When the bride Sanju reached the stage with the garland for Jaymala and saw the condition of the groom, she got angry. She refused to marry him right there on the stage and left the pavilion. Seeing this, there was a commotion on both sides.
The bride said: I will marry a poor man, but not a drug addict.
The family members and relatives tried to persuade a lot, but the bride remained firm on her decision. She clearly said that she would marry a poor person, but would never marry a drunk person. The matter reached Jaspura police station where the police pacified both the parties and got their belongings returned.
