Shaligram Aarti Lyrics Hindi: The festival of Tulsi Vivah is being celebrated today. Tulsi marriage will be organized this evening. On Tulsi Vivah, Mother Tulsi is married to the Shaligram form of Lord Vishnu. Just like the actual marriage, the rituals of Haldi, Mehndi, Jaymala, Phere etc. are also performed in Tulsi Vivah. According to a legend, Mata Tulsi was Vrinda, the wife of demon king Jalandhar.
To kill Jalandhar, Lord Vishnu violated the chastity of his wife Vrinda, after which Jalandhar came to an end at the hands of Lord Shiva. Vrinda was a devotee of Lord Vishnu, but after knowing about the death of her husband, she sacrificed her life. Then a basil plant grew there. On this, Lord Vishnu blessed that Tulsi would get married to his Shaligram incarnation. Tulsi will be essential in Vishnu puja. The puja will not be complete without her, hence, Mata Tulsi is married to the Shaligram form of the Lord.
