The doors of Lord Shri Madmaheshwar Ji, the prestigious second Kedar among the Panch Kedars located on the high mountain ranges of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, were formally opened at 11.15 am on Monday. More than three hundred and fifty devotees were present on this occasion. It is said that just a few drops of water from this holy place are enough for salvation.
Badrinath Kedar Nath Temple Committee (BKTC) spokesperson Dr. Harish Gaur said that after the arrival of Shri Madmaheshwar ji’s Devdoli, the process of opening the doors started at 10 am today. At exactly 11:15 am, priest T Gangadhar Linga formally opened the doors of Sri Madam Maheshwar Temple after the puja in the presence of BKTC officials and dignitaries.
After this, the self-proclaimed Shivalinga of Lord Madmaheshwar was given Samadhi form, Nirvana form and then Shringar form. After this the devotees had darshan. On the occasion of opening of doors, the temple was beautifully decorated with flowers by Pushp Seva Samiti, Rishikesh. The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham, Shri Tunganath Ji, Shri Rudranath Ji have already opened and the doors of Pancham Kedar Shri Kalpeshwar Ji (Urgam) remain open throughout the year.
Madhyamaheshwar Shiva is worshiped in the form of Nabhi Linga in this temple located near Ukhimath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. It is said about Madmaheshwar that whoever listens or reads the glory of Madmaheshwar with or without devotion, without doing anything, attains Shivlok. Along with this, if someone donates here, his hundred descendants will be destroyed.
Let us tell you that the first Kedar in Panch Kedar is Lord Kedarnath, who is also known as the twelfth Jyotirlinga. The second Kedar is Madmaheshwar, while the third Kedar is Tunganath, the fourth Kedar is Lord Rudranath and the fifth Kedar is Kaleshwar. The central part of Lord Shankar can be seen in Madmeshwar. Sheva priests of South India worship here also like Kedarnath.
