It grows under dense forests, earthen mounds and banks of ponds during the rainy season and the villagers dig it out early in the morning. One more thing to note is that, it grows in a protected forest area (like Pilibhit Tiger Reserve), so extracting it is a legal offense and the forest department prohibits it.
One and a half times more expensive than meat and fish
The special thing about the flower of the earth is that it is more expensive than mutton and chicken because it is natural and rare. Its price ranges up to ₹ 1000/kg. You will not find this vegetable in many shopkeepers because whoever has it sells it quickly. Due to the high price, most people are able to buy them only from 100 grams to 250 grams.
Shopkeepers will be prosperous within 10-15 days of rain
These are the flowers that grow naturally on the earth and make the shopkeepers rich in just 10-15 days. If a shopkeeper gets even three to four kilos of these, he can earn thousands in a day. In the season of light rain, vegetable retailers earn a good amount by selling it.
