The identity of Fazilnagar of Kushinagar district is now going to change forever. The government has taken a big decision to restore this place to its ancient glory. This news is very special not only for the local people but also for those interested in history and religion. Let us know what is this big change and its importance.
The Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking steps towards restoring historical sites. In this series, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the name of Fazilnagar will now be changed to ‘Pava Nagari’. This decision has been taken in view of the religious and historical importance of this place associated with the life of Lord Mahavir. The government says that this change will strengthen the religious and cultural identity of this ancient place and people will be able to become aware of its real importance.
New dawn of ancient heritage
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid special emphasis on the fact that even though Lord Mahavir was born in Vaishali, Bihar, the place of his Mahaparinirvana is located in Fazilnagar, Uttar Pradesh. In ancient texts this place is described as Pavagadh. Despite its extremely important place in history and Jain tradition, in modern times the name was losing its true identity. For this reason, the government has decided to reconnect this historical place with its ancient heritage. This step is an effort to preserve our culture.

The government is planning to develop it as a major center of religious tourism. He says that after the name change, special emphasis will be laid on the conservation, development and expansion of tourism facilities related to the religious places here. The government believes that this will not only strengthen the faith of the Jain community, but Fazilnagar will now create a new identity on the map of religious tourism at the international level as a proposed Pava city.
