This cigarette manufacturing company made huge profits, earned a profit of Rs 54 crore every day

India’s largest cigarette company ITC Ltd has earned a profit of more than Rs 54 crore every day in the second quarter of the current financial year. This company also does business in biscuits, confectionery, frozen food and other FMCG ranges. However, the company’s income from cigarettes is continuously increasing.

In the July-September quarter of the current financial year 2024-25, the consolidated net profit of the company has increased by 1.8 percent to Rs 5,054.43 crore. In the same quarter last year, the company’s profit was Rs 4,964.52 crore.

ITC’s cigarette segment business alone has increased by 6.6 percent to Rs 8,877.86 crore during this period. Whereas in the same period last year, the company’s income from cigarettes was Rs 8,328.21 crore. ITC has many top selling brands of the country in the cigarette segment.

What do the company’s earnings figures say?

In the July-September quarter, ITC’s operational revenue increased by 15.62 percent to Rs 22,281.89 crore. It was Rs 19,270.02 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. During the same period, the total expenditure of the company increased by 20.92 percent to Rs 16,056.86 crore.

In the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25, ITC’s total income including income from other segments increased by 14.86 percent to Rs 22,897.85 crore. A year ago it was Rs 19,934.9 crore.

The company’s business is also in these segments

ITC also does business in sectors like FMCG, hotels, incense sticks, matches and stationery. The company’s revenue from total FMCG segment has increased by 6.1 percent to Rs 14,463.15 crore. Whereas in the same quarter of the previous financial year it was Rs 13,631.46 crore.

Whereas the revenue of ITC’s hotel business has increased by 17 percent to Rs 789.16 crore. The company’s income from agarbatti business has increased by 46.57 percent to Rs 5,845.25 crore.

Shares of ITC Limited closed at Rs 471.85 on BSE on Thursday, which is a decline of 1.81 percent from the previous closing price.
