A two-match Test series will be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh from August 21. Pakistan will play this series at home, for which it has already announced its team. Now the Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced its team. 16 players have been selected in the squad for this series to be played under the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. Nazmul Hussain Shanto will be the captain of this team. At the same time, star players have also returned to the team.
Bangladesh team announced for Test series
Many veteran players including Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das and Taskin Ahmed have been included in the Bangladesh team for the two-match Test series against Pakistan. Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed have returned to the Bangladesh Test team. However, batsman Shahadat Hussain is not a part of this team. Mushfiqur was ruled out of the Test match against Sri Lanka due to a thumb injury, while Taskin took a break from red ball cricket to deal with a shoulder injury. Now both these stars are ready to make a comeback. Let us tell you, Taskin last played in the Test series against New Zealand in January.
Matches will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi
The first Test between the two teams will be played in Rawalpindi between 21 and 25 August while the second match will be played in Karachi between 30 August and 3 September. Six players of the Test team have reached Pakistan on Saturday with the Bangladesh A team. Mushfiqur and Mominul are among these 6 players, who will play the first four-day match in Islamabad from 13 August. The rest of the players will also leave for Pakistan on 13 August to prepare for the Test series. In fact, the Pakistan Cricket Board had offered to host Bangladesh for some time by providing all the necessary training facilities in Rawalpindi due to the ongoing civil unrest in Bangladesh, which the Bangladesh Cricket Board has accepted.
