Be careful… these days the mobiles stolen from you are being used by smugglers in Bangladesh via West Bengal. In fact, Sahibganj police arrested three youths with 71 mobile phones of different branded companies stolen from other states including Jharkhand. The police is interrogating the three accused youths to find out how many mobile phones they have sent to Bangladesh till now.
Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam said that we had received secret information that three youths, who are residents of Pahar police station area, are preparing to dispose of a large consignment of mobile phones looted from different states in Bangladesh. On the basis of this secret information the police conducted the raid. During this, all three youths were arrested along with the tractor. During investigation, 71 expensive brand mobile phones were found from the youth.
SP disclosed the matter
At present, information is being taken from all the accused about other members associated with this inter-state mobile theft gang. Investigation is also being done to find out from where the mobile phones were stolen. SP Naushad Alam said that a team was formed to catch this gang. When the team saw three suspects on a tractor from a place called Bakudi, they investigated.
71 mobile phones found with the accused
During investigation, 71 pieces of mobile phones were found from the youth. When the youth were asked about these phones, all three could not tell anything. The arrested youths are Vijay Kumar Mandal, Surendra Nonia and tractor driver Sitoon Mandal. The arrested accused have admitted during police interrogation that in the past too, mobile phones stolen from different states have been smuggled into Bangladesh via West Bengal.
