200 kilometer journey
Khushi Srivastava travels about 98-100 kilometers one way. To work in the office five days a week, this techie used to travel 200 kilometers daily from Kanpur to Lucknow and back. He made a reel of his one day’s difficult journey and shared it on his Instagram account, which went viral in no time.
After graduation in 2024, he completed his training in Chennai. After this, he got posting in Kerala. But, Khushi says that she could not work in Kerala as she had to stay with her family. The reason was that she was the only earning person in the house. His mother also has many health related problems. His family, consisting of his mother and elder brother, lived in Kanpur. Hence, he tried for transfer to the Lucknow office of the company. He got the transfer in February 2025. But, then long distance became a new problem.

Khushi used to wake up between 5:30 and 6 am five days a week. Only then could she catch the Intercity Express going to Lucknow. The train leaves from Kanpur daily at 7:30 am. She explains in detail about her journey duration, trains and office in the video. Finally, she also tells about the journey back home around 7 pm. After completing her nine-hour shift, she again reaches the railway station. Then catch train for Kanpur. Eventually, she reaches home by 11 pm. The next morning, she starts her journey for work again.
Khushi’s monthly train travel expenses are Rs 300. Share auto fare from Charbagh to Gomti Nagar is Rs 40 per day. In fact, the daily cost of a one-way journey to the office is Rs 55. Although the travel expenses are low, Khushi complains that she has no time for anything. Khushi also says that she shoots videos every day while traveling long distances.

Finally, last June, Khushi decided to shift to Lucknow. After much effort, he got a room in Chinhat. Today, Khushi lives with her mother in Lucknow. The monthly rent alone comes to around Rs 4,500. Khushi says that now she is happy because even though the expenses have increased, the distance of travel has reduced. Apart from this, now they also get some extra income from social media content.
