Om Prakash Mehra’s dream project ‘Karna’ was going to be produced by Farhan Akhtar’s production company Excel Entertainment. In this film to be made with a mega budget of around Rs 350 crore, Surya was going to play the role of Suryaputra Karna, while Janhvi was going to play Draupadi in this film. Even before this, due to big budget, this project was stopped even after pre-production had started. But once again this team started working on the film. But according to information received from sources, after the flop of ‘Kanguwa’, this film has been shelved again. However, till now no official statement has been issued by the actors or production in this regard.

Many big names were associated with the film

Only Janhvi Kapoor and Surya Not only this, but some other big names of the industry were also associated with this film. Vijay Verma, Ali Fazal and Avinash Tiwari were going to be seen playing lead roles in this film. Apart from Hindi, this film was going to be released in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam languages.

According to media reports, till now Rs 15 crore has been spent on the post production of this film. Now, it will be interesting to see whether the dream of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who made superhit films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, of making a film on ‘Karna’ will remain unfulfilled or whether he will agree to make this film in collaboration with some other production.
