‘Sheer madness…’ Railways transferred engineer 3 days before retirement – Khel Ja – Khel Ja

A surprising case has come to light from Chhattisgarh. Here a railway employee was transferred hundreds of kilometers away, three days before his retirement. The employee has written a letter to the Railway Board expressing his displeasure over this order. Also termed the railway order as ‘madness’.

The transfer of the Chief Communication Engineer of Bilaspur Division of South East Central Railway (SECR) has become a cause of harassment for him. It is reported that an employee working in Indian Railways was transferred to a distance of hundreds of kilometers three days before his retirement. Troubled by this order, he has written a letter to the Railway Board, in which he has called it sheer madness.

KP Arya is the Chief Communication Engineer

Actually, KP Arya works as Chief Communication Engineer in Bilaspur Division of South East Central Railway (SECR). His retirement is to take place on November 30, but three days ago he was transferred from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh to Delhi. Disturbed by this, he wrote a letter to the Railway Board and said, “On the surface, this order seems right, but when my retirement is within a week on 30th November 2023, then this order clearly appears to be madness.”

According to the transfer order, KP Arya is to take charge of the post of Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) in Northern Railway on 28 November 2023, while his retirement is scheduled to take place on 30 November. Arya has termed her transfer to the Northern Railway (NR) zone as harassment by the Railway Board. While talking to the media, he said that there was already a vacant post of HAG in the SECR zone, yet the Railway Board decided to transfer him to the same post in the Northern Railway zone. He said, “I will work only for three days at the headquarters of Northern Railway in Delhi and will retire from Indian Railways.”

waste of public money

KP Arya told that his promotion was to happen 6 months ago, but it was peddling. He described this transfer done a few days before his retirement as just a way to harass him so that he would have to face problems at the time of retirement. He said, “Railways will give me around Rs 3 lakh as transfer allowance, which is a complete waste of public money.”
