Bihar Election Final Result: The echo of NDA’s spectacular victory in Bihar Assembly elections is everywhere. This victory cannot be called the success of just one leader or party. But, the story behind this invincible front is the well-planned ‘Panchtantra’ of BJP’s chief strategist Amit Shah.
Staying behind the scenes, he made such a strategy which stunned the opposition.
When star campaigners of all parties were holding massive rallies in Bihar, Amit Shah also reached Patna, but did not participate in the campaign. He stayed away from public programs for two to three days, because he was engaged internally on a special mission. The results proved that his subtle strategy became the foundation of the election victory.
1. ‘Silent’ campaign to pacify the rebels
Shah’s first step was to quell dissent. By avoiding public programs for two-three days, he focused his entire attention on the angry rebel leaders. He convinced them by making personal contact. Dr. Preeti Shekhar of Bhagalpur and Mrinal Shekhar of Amarpur, who were going to fight the rebels, agreed to Shah’s persuasion. This ‘strategic silence’ saved the NDA from internal disunity.
2. Keeping the alliance strong
Building alliances has been a challenge in Bihar politics. There were BJP, JDU, LJP and other parties in NDA. Amit Shah maintained constant touch with the top leadership of all parties and immediately resolved any misunderstandings. His alertness kept the alliance united and did not give any chance to the opposition.
3. Coordination between LJP and JDU
The biggest challenge was to end the ground tension between LJP and JDU. Shah showed fine management on this. The BJP organization worked as a ‘coordination committee’ between the two parties. The result was that Chirag Paswan, who earlier used to raise questions on Nitish government, later started praising him.
4. Micro-planning of vote sharing
The main basis of victory was the enumeration of votes. Shah focused on micro-planning. He held direct meetings with booth and block workers and explained how to work for the alliance partner. This ‘ground zero’ strategy played a decisive role in bringing together the alliance’s votes.
5. Constant contact with migrant workers
Amit Shah also used digital platforms. He connected with migrant workers from Bihar living in other parts of the country through video call. He entrusted these workers with the task of contacting family and acquaintances in their areas to spread the election message and motivate them to vote.
