Rohit Sharma : He is easily among the best white-ball batters of the generation, if not the best. But with Rohit in the twilight period of his career, it is interesting to see will Mumbai Indians punt again on the most successful IPL captain or not.
There were reports that Rohit was unhappy after he was asked to step down as MI captain and then the franchise had a season to forget. There is a rumour that Punjab Kings could be intereted in getting Rohit onboard. But, the moot question is – will they have a budget to lure Rohit?
KL Rahul : It was there for everyone to see what transpired between LSG captain KL Rahul and the owner. Now, it would be interesting to see if the Lucknow franchise let go of him. Without a doubt, Rahul is a top-batter, a sound wicketkeeper and a captaincy option. With Rahul bringing so much to the table, it would be extremely difficult for Lucknow to do without him.
Rishabh Pant : This may be surprising for a few, but some days back there were some claims that Pant could be heading south to join Chennai Super Kings if the franchise does not retain MS Dhoni . This is pretty far-fetched.
