After a career spanning two decades, Kannada player Rohan Bopanna has announced his retirement from professional tennis. Rohan Bopanna, who has won two Grand Slam doubles titles, has announced his retirement at the age of 45. Bopanna has been a former world number 1 player in doubles. Rohan Bopanna also has the honor of being the oldest player to achieve this feat. Bopanna, who has won 26 doubles titles on the ATP Tour, last played against Alexander Bublik at the Paris Masters earlier this year.
Bopanna has represented India in the Olympics three times
Bopanna, who has represented India in 3 Olympics, was a member of India’s Davis Cup team from 2002 to 2023. Bopanna has said that tennis is not just a game for him, but it was a great honor to represent India. Bopanna, who won the Australian Open men’s doubles title with Matthew Ebden in 2024, had won the French Open mixed doubles title with Gabriela Dabrowski in 2017.

Bopanna has reached Grand Slam finals four times, including twice in men’s doubles and twice in mixed doubles.
