There was a dispute over firecrackers in Ballabhgarh of Faridabad, adjacent to Delhi. Neighbors objected to bursting of firecrackers. As the dispute escalated, everyone attacked the victim’s house outright. Women were beaten in the house. Tore their clothes. The house was vandalized and stone pelted. In panic, the family members have put up posters outside the house saying ‘the house is for sale’. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
The incident is of 27th October. The victim has filed a police complaint against many named women and 50-60 people including Aashiq, Rashid, Vijaypal, Nitin, Salman of the locality. The victim has made serious allegations against these accused, people from the minority community. The victim has been accused of not celebrating Diwali and threatening her to leave the locality. The police is investigating the allegations of the victim woman.
Controversy over firecrackers
In the complaint given to the police, the victim, a resident of street number 2, behind Lal Kothi of Ballabhgarh, which is equal to the water tank, told the police that on the night of 27 October, her brother was lighting lamps in preparation for Diwali. Meanwhile he burst crackers. Then 50-60 people including Aashiq, Rashid, Vijaypal, Nitin, Salman living in his neighborhood started abusing him. Seeing them, the victim came inside the house with her family members. It is alleged that the said people started threatening them not to celebrate Diwali and calling them people of a particular community in the locality. The victim closed the door of the house. It is alleged that the accused pelted stones at his house.

The victim told the police that the accused entered through the roof of her house. He was beaten up. Their clothes were torn and attempts were made to molest and rape them. The victim alleges that the people who attacked her had iron rods, sticks and petrol. They vandalized the house. They looted a gold chain and Rs 20,000 from the woman’s neck. Also, if he complained to the police, he was threatened with death. The victim called the police helpline number and informed the police about the incident.
‘House is for sale’ poster put up
On receiving the information, police reached the spot. Police said that the victim was asked to lodge a complaint at night and a medical examination should be done, but the victim said that she would lodge a complaint in the morning. After receiving the complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused. The victim says that she is being threatened by people of a particular community in the locality, hence she has put up a poster of ‘house for sale’ outside her house.
