However, there was a time when she was earning so much at a very young age.

Speaking with Tanmay Bhat on his YouTube channel, Rhea Chakraborty opened up about her days as an MTV VJ and the early success of her career. From meeting as her first celebrity to earning ₹3 lakh per month, she was growing rapidly.
“I was a VJ on MTV. Everyone allowed me to do his interview and I didn’t know why they were being so nice but it was because everyone was scared. There was a time when only good-looking people were allowed to speak.”
She continued, “At that time, a VJ used to get good money. I think ₹3 lakh was my last salary. But I was also just 17-18 years old, so I really thought I was damn rich. Spent this money on fixing my face.”
Bhat then asked her about fixing his own face and Rhea was kind enough to advocate for the growing technology and for everyone to try it at least once.
Chakraborty made her acting debut in 2012 with a Telugu film, Tuneega Tuneega and then made her way into Bollywood the following year with Mere Dad Ki Maruti. Even as her acting career was gradually growing, her personal life was in shambles after being associated with Sushant Singh Rajput following his death in 2020. She was even taken into custody, only to be granted bail later.
She was accused of allegedly having a hand in his death, which was later debunked by the CBI when no evidence connected the two situations. She has been rebuilding her life since then. On August 13, Season 2 will premiere and she is among the contestants.
