The 2025 Women’s World Cup final has been delayed due to heavy rain at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai with the Indian and South Africa players forced to play the waiting game in the dressing room on the biggest day of their lives with constant showers forcing the pitch and outfield under covers.
The good news for cricke fans is that there is a reserve day in place and if the match cannot place today, it will be completed on Monday (November 3).
However, it is worth noting that all efforts will be made to complete the match today even if means playing a 20-over game.
What Time ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final Should Start And Go To Reserve Day?
In order to ensure the game is completed today, a 20-over match can start by 9:08 PM IST. Meanwhile, if the match starts by 5:00 PM IST, it will be a full 50-over game after which overs will be lost. While in normal games, there is a one-hour buffer period, the final has a spare time of two hours before overs are cut.
Meanwhile, it is worth noting that hte match will only go to a reserve day if a 20-over match is not possible. It is worth noting that if overs are reduced and the match starts but once again has to stop due to rain, then the game will still be a reduced game and start at the same point it stops today.
Incase, the match goes to a reserve day without the first ball being played, then a full 50-over match will take place tommorow unless there is rain again.
Incase, the game gets washed out on the reserve day too, then the trophy will be shared between the two teams.
Both teams are looking to win their first-ever World Cup title.
