Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses debut in India: Price, features and AI upgrades

New Delhi: India Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI glasses are officially available in India, with improved video capture, extended battery capacity and improved Meta AI functions. The new collection begins at 39900 and is found at the Ray-Ban India outlets and other large optical shops. The second-generation glasses lead to significant performance, design and daily functionality and are the most significant push that Meta has made to date in the smart eyewear category.

The glasses have become 3K Ultra HD video, ultrawide HDR photos and AI-powered assistance, and all of that is in lightweight glasses created to be used every day. The Gen 2 model will use new colours, enhanced comfort and Hindi language support of Meta AI to attract a larger population of users in India.

Next-generation AI glasses arrive

The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is a continuation of the first model that has enhanced imaging, audio, and smarter AI characteristics. The battery life of the users is up to 8 hours, with 50% charge in 20 minutes, and a charging case that gives an additional 48 hours. Hyperlapse and slow-motion capture features will be introduced to Meta with software upgrades, and new opportunities for capturing moments without holding a phone will be provided.

Fresh styles and limited editions

The collection is in the standard Wayfarer, the contemporary Skyler and the favoured Headliner shapes. The new colour treatments include Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet and Shiny Asteroid Grey. Meta also is launching seasonal editions for those buyers who desire a more customised appearance.

Meta AI has faster responses, voice-enhancing conversation focus and complete exposure to Hindi. People can also say ‘Hey Meta’ to pose questions, get recommendations, control media or take photos and videos without having to touch their phone.

Meta AI has also introduced a new voice that is a celebrity voice in the form of Deepika Padukone. Her AI voice is added to the global lineup of the AI. That means that users now have a more natural and personal way of communicating with the assistant.

Another new feature that is currently under testing will enable users to make UPI Lite payments by just scanning a QR code and saying, Hey Meta, scan and pay. The payment will be done through the bank account of the user that is linked to WhatsApp, thus simplifying the daily payment processes.
