Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will stop trains in 19 districts of Punjab on December 5 from 1-3 pm. This demonstration is in protest against the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025 and other demands. Railway services will be affected due to this symbolic protest.
Chandigarh: Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (India), Punjab Chapter, is going to conduct a two-hour symbolic ‘Rail Roko’ agitation at 26 places in 19 districts on 5th December 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm. The protest is being held to repeal the draft Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, remove prepaid meters and reinstall old meters, protest the forced sale of public assets by the Bhagwant Mann government and raise other issues.
Trains will be stopped in 19 districts of Punjab
Train movement will be stopped at several places in 19 districts, including: Amritsar, Devidas Pura and Majitha stations on the Delhi-Amritsar main railway line; Gurdaspur, Batala railway station, Gurdaspur railway station and Dera Baba Nanak railway station on the Amritsar-Jammu and Kashmir railway line; Pathankot, Parmanand Crossing; Tarn Taran: Tarn Taran Railway Station.

Other districts affected by the protest include Firozpur, Basti Tankanwale, Mallanwala and Talwandi Bhai; Kapurthala, near Dadwindi (Sultanpur Lodhi); Jalandhar, Jalandhar Cantt; Hoshiarpur, Tanda (Jammu & Kashmir and Jalandhar rail routes) and Bhungala railway stations; Patiala, Shambhu and Bara (Nabha); Sangrur, Sunam Shaheed Udham Singh Wala; Fazilka, Fazilka Railway Station; Moga, Moga Railway Station; Bathinda, Rampura Railway Station; Muktsar, Malot and Muktsar; Malerkotla, Ahmedgarh; Mansa, Mansa Railway Station; Ludhiana, Sahnewal Railway Station; Faridkot, Faridkot Railway Station and Ropar, Ropar Railway Station.
Due to this protest, rail services will be affected at these places. Commuters will face disruption in their travel during the two-hour (1 pm to 3 pm) protest on December 5 demanding the repeal of the draft Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, and are advised to plan their journey accordingly.
