In Punjab, police registered FIR against 932 farmers for burning stubble. A fine of ₹1.67 crore has also been imposed in 7405 cases. Police claim that there has been a decline in the cases of stubble burning in the last two days. On Sunday and Saturday, 740 and 637 farm fire cases were registered in the state. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav reviewed the situation of stubble burning in the state.
Senior police officers are holding daily meetings with range officers, CP/SSP and station in-charges. 1072 flying squads are monitoring stubble burning.
On the other hand, Special DGP Arpit Shukla Hoshiarpur and S.B.S. Has visited the city regarding stubble burning issues. Red alert has been issued in all the districts of the state and special orders have been issued to the officials on cases of stubble burning.
Meanwhile, talks are being held with those farmers and various other organizations and they are being informed about the losses caused by stubble burning. Strict steps are being taken by the administration to ensure that the instructions of the Supreme Court are followed.
Farmers are being made aware about stubble
He said that officials have been directed to contact various concerned parties including farmers to make them aware about the ill effects of stubble burning. He also said that everyone here has been told whether this is also a violation of the law and action will be taken against them.
The Special DGP appealed to the farmers to cooperate in this work and not to burn the stubble. He said that this not only spoils the environment but also affects the health of children.
Top officials are visiting the districts
Arpit Shukla Hoshiarpur and S.B.S. He had come on a tour to take stock of stubble burning cases in the city districts. He told that all DSPs and SHOs have been asked to talk to sarpanches and farmer leaders. He said that stubble burning has become a big problem not only for urban people but for every person.
Let us tell you that DGP Gaurav Yadav had appointed Special DGP Arpit Shukla as the police nodal officer to monitor the action against stubble burning.
