Punjab: Cycle rally against drugs, CM Bhagwant Mann flags off on Martyrdom Day

A continuous campaign against drugs is going on in Punjab. In this connection, a cycle rally against drug abuse was organized in Ludhiana. On the occasion of martyrdom day of Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off this cycle rally. During this period, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself rode a bicycle. Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that this is not a political rally nor is it a show of strength.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that there is a need to make the youth of Punjab aware. He said that the purpose of this rally is to bring out the youth trapped in the quagmire of drugs so that the future of Punjab can be secured. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great joy that people from every section of the society are taking part in this huge cycle rally.

If the youth is safe then the future of Punjab is also safe.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab has been attacked by robbers since the beginning, but Punjabis have always fought these attacks bravely. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the day is not far when Punjab will be free from drugs for which every Punjabi should take a pledge.

Bhagwant Mann said that now Punjab has started an all-out fight against drugs. It was started by offering ardas from Sri Harmandar Sahib in Amritsar. He said that the maximum number of martyrs have taken place in Punjab and today we have to eliminate the evils of drugs from the land of martyrs.

The land of Punjab has endured the attacks of swords and arrows. But now there has been an attack of drugs on the same soil of Punjab. He said that Punjab has given a befitting reply to every attack, now drug addiction will also end and those spreading the poison of drug addiction will also be defeated.

Now the atmosphere has started changing in Punjab

The Chief Minister said that today the drug eradication movement has started in Punjab. The Punjab which was once deeply stuck in the quagmire of drugs, has today again started becoming the Punjab of Gidda and Bhangra. During this, he said that 2200 policemen will be recruited every year for surveillance and vigilance.

The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has always laid emphasis on promoting sports. He said that for the first time the state government has given additional funds to the players for preparation. Bhagwant Mann said that Punjabis have won 19 medals in the recently concluded Asian Games, which is the highest number of medals won since the inception of the Asian Games.

The Chief Minister said that an empty mind is the house of the devil, hence every possible effort is being made to provide jobs to the youth. He said that every year advertisements are being given for regular recruitment on 2100 posts in Punjab Police.

Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha remembered for the first time

During this, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that for the first time in the state, six other martyrs who were hanged along with Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha were also remembered. Paying tribute to Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha on the historic day, the Chief Minister said that on this holy day, taking a pledge to further strengthen the unity, integrity and mutual brotherhood of the country will be a true tribute to this great martyr.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the country will always be indebted to the great sacrifice of this martyr. He said that the state government has already declared 16th November as gazetted holiday every year on the occasion of martyrdom day of Martyrdom Day of Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha.
