Police saluted the flag, remembered the glorious tradition

Mirzapur, 23 November (Hindustan Reporter). On Saturday, on the occasion of Police Flag Day, Superintendent of Police Abhinandan saluted the police flag in a function organized at the quarter guard on the police line. On this occasion, Area Officer Radio Pritam Singh, while welcoming the Superintendent of Police, pasted the police flag symbol (sticker) on his left pocket. After this, the Superintendent of Police hoisted the flag and saluted and addressed the policemen present.

In his address, the Superintendent of Police said that the police flag is not only a symbol of our character, but it also reflects our glorious history and devotion to duty.

This flag inspires us towards service to the country and public service and infuses new energy within us. Uttar Pradesh Police is the first state police force in the entire country to be awarded this flag. It is a matter of pride for us.

On this occasion, all the officers and employees present in the police line expressed respect towards the police flag and described it as a source of inspiration for their service spirit.

Historical importance of police flag

The Superintendent of Police said that this flag was presented to the Uttar Pradesh Police by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 23 November 1952. The flag is 4 feet long and 3 feet wide, with red colors at the top and blue at the bottom. On the same day, the flag was also presented to the PAC force. This historical day is celebrated every year as Police Flag Day.

At the ceremony, the Superintendent of Police also read out the congratulatory message sent by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh to all the officers and employees. Besides, all the policemen were given a sticker symbolizing the police flag.
