Pakistan Cricket Board is going to host the Champions Trophy next year. But the dispute between BCCI and PCB regarding the organization of this tournament is not ending. Now ICC has organized a virtual meeting to resolve the differences between the two boards. It is expected that during this time ICC will put pressure on Pakistan to conduct the tournament in hybrid model. Meanwhile, PCB has now given a new threat, in which it has said that if this happens, it will also take revenge of the Champions Trophy in the future and will make a similar demand in front of India.
Pakistan will take revenge in these tournaments
After the Champions Trophy, two big tournaments are to be held in India. The Women’s ODI World Cup is to be hosted by India next year. After this, Men’s T20 World Cup will be hosted in India and Sri Lanka in 2026. In view of this, PCB can also adopt the same stance as BCCI. The Telegraph, quoting Pakistan Cricket Board sources, has reported that if the Champions Trophy is forced to be organized in a hybrid model, it will also demand the same for the next two major tournaments.
If sources are to be believed, PCB has threatened that in future it will not send its team to India for the Women’s ODI World Cup. For this also hybrid model ICC will have to be adopted. Apart from this, he will play all the matches in T20 World Cup 2026 but not in India but in Sri Lanka.
If his demand for hybrid model is not accepted in both these tournaments then he will withdraw his name. Let us tell you that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had recently said in strong words in his press conference that if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan, then the Pakistani team will also not come to India.
What did BCCI say?
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has also reacted on the Champions Trophy issue. He said that ‘Consideration is also being made to conduct ICC Champions Trophy in hybrid model. Apart from this there are other options also. For us, the safety of Indian players is a priority, the decision will be taken on that basis. Talks are going on right now, we will let you know when everything is finalized.
