Since the formation of the new government in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorist attacks are continuously increasing. Reacting to these attacks, National Conference leader and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah strongly targeted Pakistan. Abdullah said that Pakistan can never succeed in its plans in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Those who want this area to merge with Pakistan will never succeed. India’s strength lies in its diversity and unity. We have to strengthen mutual brotherhood and remove hatred, so that there can be an atmosphere of peace, progress and development in the country.”
While talking to journalists, Farooq said that people are expecting big changes from the new government and hope that Jammu and Kashmir will touch new heights of development in the coming years. Taking aim at the separatists, he said that those who are thinking of joining Pakistan, he further said that they can never succeed, Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of India and will always remain so. Pakistan will never succeed here.
Religious hatred is a threat to our unity
Describing the growing religious hatred in the country as a threat to unity, Abdullah said that it is very important to end it, we have to maintain the diversity of our country, no matter what our language, religion or culture is, we are Indians. Abdullah appealed to the people and said that we should remain united, otherwise India’s existence will be in danger. Referring to Raghunath Market, Abdullah said that this market is losing its old charm after the Lieutenant Governor stopped the tradition of Darbar Move in 2022. Under this tradition started by the Maharajas, the government used to work in Srinagar for six months and Jammu for six months.

Everyone has expectations from this government, and I also want that Jammu and Kashmir should progress, unemployment should end, youth should get employment and this region should progress. On the demand for restoration of statehood, he said, “Once the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir is restored, local officials will be appointed to higher posts.
He further said that in the last 75 years the local authorities have governed the state and made it the most progressive state in the country, but in the last five years we have come down and we have to take it again to new heights.
