Number 8888 was taken by bidding Rs 1.17 crore, now if the money is not paid then it will be auctioned again!

HR 88 B 8888 number plate will be auctioned again

Hobby is a great thing, but sometimes this hobby becomes heavy on the pocket and the consent of the family. Last week, the auction of a VIP car number plate in Haryana had caught the attention of the entire country. The reason for the discussion was the bid amount, which was very high. ‘HR 88 B 8888’ A person had bid Rs 1.17 crore for the number. But now news is coming that this deal has fallen into disrepair even before it is finalized. The deadline for depositing money has ended and now this precious number will be auctioned again.

The greatest quote that remained incomplete

In fact, Sudhir Kumar, director of transportation service company ‘Romulus Solutions Private Limited’ in Haryana, had tried his best to get this number. He had bid Rs 1.17 crore for VIP number ‘HR 88 B 8888’. This is believed to be the biggest bid ever placed for any vehicle number in India.

According to the rules, after winning the auction, Sudhir Kumar was given time till 12 noon on Sunday, December 1 to make the payment. But even after the deadline passed, the money did not reach the department. The result is that now this auction is being considered canceled and the Transport Department will invite fresh bids for this number.

Why couldn’t the payment be made?

The reason for retreating after making such a big bid is quite interesting. According to a report by NDTV, Sudhir Kumar said that he tried to make the payment twice on Saturday night, but due to a technical glitch the money could not be transferred. According to the report, the other aspect of the case also points towards family discord.

Sudhir admitted that his family was strongly against spending Rs 1.17 crore for a number plate. The elders and other members of the family believe that spending such a huge amount of money just for a fancy number is not a wise decision. While Sudhir was considering this number as a question of his prestige, the family is considering it as wasteful expenditure.

The game started from Rs 50 thousand and reached crores.

The craze for this number can be gauged from the fact that its auction started with a base price of just Rs 50,000. Within no time, 45 applicants took part and a competition broke out. By 12 noon on Wednesday the bidding had reached Rs 88 lakh and when the auction closed at 5 pm, the figure stopped at Rs 1.17 crore.

The craze of VIP numbers is not new in Haryana. Online auctions are conducted every week through the state government website fancy.parivahan.gov.in. People interested in this process can apply from Friday 5 pm to Monday 9 am. Since the highest bidder has not paid now, this number will be available for bidding again.
