Nuh: We were going to the temple, when stones were thrown at us, women narrated their ordeal, police deployed.

Stone pelting on women going for well worship in Nuh, Haryana has created tension in the area. This incident of stone pelting took place near the big mosque built at a short distance from Kabir Mohalla. Many women have been injured in this incident. It is alleged that on Thursday evening, some women of Kabir Mohalla were going from behind the Big Mosque to worship the well, when stones were thrown at them from the roof of the Madrasa. Describing the entire incident, the women said, ‘Stones were thrown at us while going to the temple. We ignored this and proceeded to Kailash temple to worship the well.

The women said, ‘Even while coming back from the temple, we were pelted with stones. Many women traveling with them were injured. Informing about the stone pelting on them, the women told their family members over the phone that stones had been thrown at them from the top of the madrasa. Hearing this, the people of Kabir locality reached near the madrasa. From there they started taking photographs of those throwing stones. It is alleged that stones were also thrown at the people taking photographs.

Information about the matter was given to the police. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, senior officers including SP Narendra Singh Bijraniya arrived with their team and heavy police was deployed around the Madrasa.

There was a program of well worship at the house of Ramavatar living in Kabir Mohalla. In this program the women had gone to worship the well. According to Ramavatar, 40 to 50 women had gone to worship the well, out of which 5 to 7 women were injured. When he got the information, he reached the spot. There he was told that stones were thrown by some children studying in the madrasa.

Ramavtar says that when the police confronted Mufti, Mufti told them that the children’s slippers had fallen and also confronted three children aged 8 to 10 years. However, a complaint has been given to the police by the victim party.

According to the police, they had received information that some children had thrown stones from the Madrasa side when some women were going to worship the well. After reaching the spot, the police made both the parties understand and sent them home. Police say that action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts emerge in the investigation. At present there is silence in the area.
