Rules related to Aadhar Card
An important information has come to light for the people living in Uttar Pradesh. In today’s time, Aadhar card is used in almost every government and private work. But now the UP government has issued such an order, after which Aadhaar will not be considered a valid document in a very important process. This change can stop many important tasks of people, so it is very important to understand it.
Aadhaar will not prove birth
Uttar Pradesh government has made it clear that now Aadhar card will not be accepted as birth certificate or proof of date of birth. The government says that Aadhaar may be an identity card, but it does not certify the date of birth of any person as an official record. Therefore, it would be wrong and misleading to consider it as a birth document.
The state planning department paid special attention to the issue and found that the date of birth or information recorded in Aadhaar does not come from any certified birth register in the UIDAI database. Therefore, using it as a birth proof is wrong and may create problems of wrong documentation in future.
All departments received instructions
Instructions have been sent to all departments that Aadhaar should be rejected with immediate effect in birth related verification. This means that now showing Aadhaar in school admission, government forms, age proof documents or any other process will not be considered as proof of birth. For this, people will have to provide separate original proof like birth certificate or school records. This decision will especially affect those people who till now had filled the papers everywhere considering Aadhaar as proof of age or date of birth.
UP’s order came on the basis of UIDAI’s letter
Uttar Pradesh government has also mentioned the letter issued by UIDAI (Lucknow Regional Office). UIDAI had clarified that the purpose of Aadhaar is only to confirm identity and address and not to provide official proof of birth. Only after this the state issued this strict order.
Increased attention on border security and illegal immigrants
Another big reason behind this decision has come to light. The UP government is strengthening the identification and investigation of illegal immigrants in the state, especially in the districts with open border with Nepal. The government has also recently ordered to build a temporary detention center. Therefore, more strictness is being taken regarding documents and removing Aadhaar as birth proof is a part of that.
