Priya Paliwal, Chief Dietitian at Shri Balaji Action Medical Institute, says that millet is very beneficial. Its nature is hot, hence consuming it in winter keeps the body warm and also provides adequate nutrition. Bajra roti, porridge or it can be eaten by boiling. Consumption of Bajra is beneficial in every way. At the same time, if we talk about millet halwa, it also has its own benefits. Dry fruits and desi ghee are used in halwa, which is beneficial in giving strength to the body. Eating this increases energy and removes weakness. However, if you are using sugar in halwa then do not give it to diabetic patients.

Ingredients required to make Bajra Halwa
1 cup millet flour
½ cup ghee
¾ cup jaggery (or sugar) or as per taste
2 cups hot water
45 cardamom
Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios
How to make Halwa
Heat ghee in a pan, add millet flour and fry on medium flame. When the flour turns light brown and the aroma starts coming, it means that it has been roasted well. Now heat the water slightly and slowly pour it into the pan. If you add water all at once, lumps may form. Now keep stirring it well so that the mixture becomes smooth. After this add jaggery to it and cook for 34 minutes. Finally add cardamom powder and dry fruits and cook for 1 more minute. Hot millet halwa is ready.
