Major negligence of a government hospital has come to light in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Here a woman became pregnant two months after sterilization. The woman had undergone sterilization under family planning. Now the woman and her family are worried. The incident took place in Parbatta police station area of Navgachia. Priya Kumari, wife of Mantu Jha, a laborer living here, was married in 2017. they have two children. Due to weak financial condition of the family, the woman had undergone sterilization.
The victim’s husband told that her first child was born in 2018, after which she had a second child in 2019. After this, considering the financial situation and on medical advice, Priya was sterilized at Ismailpur Health Center on 14 March 2024. Despite sterilization, when the woman was examined, a child was found in the womb. The victim told that he had gone to Ismailpur Hospital to get the operation done. There the doctor did not even tell you that you were going to have a delivery. Later, after taking the kit and checking it, it was found out that she was pregnant.

The victim told that she had got the family planning operation done. Now the doctors in the hospital are not listening to anything. Went to the hospital two-three times, but there was no hearing. Told the Asha worker also but he also avoided it. She told that she is in her 8th month of pregnancy and the operation was not successful. The victim’s husband Mantu Jha said that he went to the hospital several times but there was no hearing. After going to Ismailpur hospital, the staff there scolds him and drives him away.
Doctor accused of negligence
The victim alleges that the doctor was negligent in this. His financial condition is not good. Due to poverty and unemployment, there is difficulty in educating the children. How will the third child be supported? Regarding the matter, the hospital’s medical officer Rakesh Ranjan said that no written application has been received. Have talked on phone. Investigation is being conducted. Have done ultrasound and asked for report. If the complaint is found true, the compensation amount will be paid to the victim.
