At least 9 devotees have died in a stampede at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple on the occasion of Ekadashi in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district. The video showed how hundreds of women carrying puja baskets got stuck on the stairs and suddenly a stampede broke out. Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the incident and directed immediate treatment for the injured. The accident happened when a huge crowd gathered for darshan. There was a crowd in the temple for this.
