Mahesh Babu honours late father Krishna, to fund education for 40 students

Mahesh Babu’s father and Tollywood’s legendary actor, Krishna, died on November 15, 2022 They have also decided to set up an educational fund, which aims to provide scholarships to 40 students.



Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrara Shirodkar, founded the Mahesh Babu Foundation in 2020, aiming to sponsor financial aid to children, particularly infants born with heart-related conditions. The idea came from their son, Gautham, who was also born with a heart ailment.

In remembrance of his late father, actor Krishna, Mahesh Babu has now founded a Superstar Krishna Educational Fund. This initiative, a tribute to Krishna, will provide scholarships to 40 students in need. The education will range from school to post-graduate degree.

On Wednesday, November 15, Mahesh also took to X and shared a throwback picture of the late actor. “Superstar, always and forever (sic)”, he wrote.

Meanwhile, Telugu actor Krishna, originally known as Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murhty, worked in around 350 films. Not just a legendary actor, he was also a renowned director and producer. He was also awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2009.

He made his debut in Telugu cinema with Adurthi Subba Rao’s romantic film ‘Thene Manasulu’ in 1965. He died on November 15, 2022 due to health issues.

Meanwhile, on the work front for Mahesh Babu, he has ‘Guntur Kaaram’ in the pipeline. Helmed by Trivikram, it is slated for a theatrical release next year in January.
