Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Muskan Raghuvanshi, the international mountaineer, from Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar, has once again brought laurels to the nation. The young mountaineer scaled Africa’s highest peak Mount Kilimanjaro and hoisted India’s tricolour.

Raghuvanshi happens to be the youngest mountaineer of Madhya Pradesh to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Previously, Muskan had climbed up to Australia’s highest peak Mount Kosciuszko, on Independence Day (August 15, 2024). Mount Kosciuszko peak is 2,228 metres above sea level.

Mount Kilimanjaro, on the other hand, is a dormant volcano in Africa’s Tanzania and it is 4,900 meters above the sea level.

MP politicians praise her

Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia took to his X handle to congratulate Mountaineer Muskan on her achievement and wrote, “After conquering Australia’s highest peak Mount Kosciuszko, Ashoknagar’s daughter Muskan Raghuvanshi has once again made the state and the entire nation proud by hoisting the Indian flag on Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro”

“Muskan has become the youngest mountaineer from the state to achieve this dual success. Heartfelt congratulations on this remarkable achievement on behalf of every Indian!,” he added.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav also praised Raghuvanshi and expressed happiness to see the tricolour on an African mountain. Congratulating her, CM wrote, “The Indian tricolor proudly waving on the summit of the African continent… Muskan Raghuvanshi, the daughter of Ashoknagar, has brought pride to Madhya Pradesh and the entire nation by hoisting the Indian flag on Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Blessings and best wishes to Muskan for a bright, successful, and prosperous future!”

Scindia supported the mountaineer financially

Muskan Raghuvanshi had previously requested financial assistance from Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in July to help her climb Mount Kosciuszko. The minister promptly provided the necessary financial support. Later, on August 15, Muskan achieved her goal and hoisted the Indian flag at Australia’s highest and coldest peak.

During that momentous occasion, she displayed a placard featuring a picture and name of Scindia.

Future goals

Muskan shared to the media that her next goal is to conquer Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe.
