Madhya Pradesh becomes hub of green energy: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurates three CBG plants of Reliance

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually inaugurated three CBG plants of Reliance in Bhopal, Indore and Satna. Built with an investment of Rs 700 crore, these plants will generate green energy from waste, reduce carbon emissions and provide new employment opportunities.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that green energy is the biggest need of today. Through integrated energy production system, we are taking the country and the state towards a clean, green and bright future. He said that Madhya Pradesh will be made a hub of green energy with the participation of private sector.

Virtual inauguration of three Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants

On Wednesday, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated three new Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants built by Reliance Green Energy Company in Bhopal, Indore and Satna through video conferencing from Samatva Bhawan, Chief Minister’s residence. He said that these state-of-the-art plants symbolize “transformation of waste into energy”. This will reduce incidents like stubble burning and will help in keeping the environment clean.

Investment of Rs 700 crore in 6 plants

Reliance Company has so far established 6 CBG plants in Madhya Pradesh. Three were inaugurated on Wednesday, while plants in Jabalpur, Balaghat and Sehore are under construction. A total investment of about Rs 700 crore has been made on these. Their combined production capacity is 45 thousand tonnes per year. These plants will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 17 thousand tonnes every year – which is a great example of the state government’s efforts to protect the environment.

Green Revolution 2.0 started in Bhopal

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this CBG plant built in Adampur Cantonment of Bhopal is the largest and most modern plant in the state. It realizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Waste to Wealth” and “Energy from Waste”. He described it as “the beginning of a new era of clean energy, green development and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh”.

Waste-to-wealth center built in the city of lakes

According to Reliance Company, the Bhopal plant has been built on 20 acres of land at a cost of Rs 130 crore. This will produce 22.5 tonnes of bio gas per day, for which 260 tonnes of agricultural residues (such as stubble and Napier grass) will be used. This gas will be used in the form of bio-CNG for vehicles, domestic and industrial use – which will fuel about 2000 autos and small vehicles. This will provide direct and indirect employment to more than 250 people.

Opportunity from Waste: New Model of Waste Management

This CBG plant is based on zero liquid discharge technology and comes in white category, which is completely safe for the environment. Anaerobic Digestion Technology has been used in this, which has been developed by GPS Renewables (India) and Snow Leopard Projects (Germany). This plant will become a medium to bring change in the lives of farmers – they will get additional income by selling stubble and 90 tonnes of Fermented Organic Manure will be prepared per day. This will improve the quality of soil and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.

New bio gas plants being built across the state

CBG plants in Indore, Satna and Jabalpur are almost ready, while work is in progress in Balaghat and Sehore. This project will not only generate energy from agricultural waste but will also revive barren land and wasteland.

The target is to set up 100 plants in the first phase of the project, with an investment of about Rs 120 crore each. This will provide employment to more than 500 people. In the coming years, Reliance Company is working on a plan to set up 500 compressed bio gas plants in the state.
