Liam Payne’s death has sent shockwaves around the world. The former One Direction member died after falling from the third floor of his hotel balcony.
According to the preliminary toxicology report, Payne had a cocktail of drugs in his system at the time of his death.
The Buenos Aires police is currently investigating the death and recently they have raided the CasaSur Palermo Hotel where the actor died after falling from the third floor.
According to the Argentinian newspaper LA NACION, officers of the special division were deployed to the hotel to find more evidence for the investigation.
A source close to the cops has told the newspaper LA NACION: “Personnel from the Special Investigations Division and the Special Technological Investigations Division were deployed [Wednesday] afternoon to the CasaSur Hotel in Palermo where the singer Liam Payne lost his life last week to carry out a raid […] to obtain elements of interest for the investigation.”
As per the second source, the cops went into the hotel in Argentina to obtain videos and documents from the lobby and courtyard as they investigated the singer’s death and his last moments.
Several images showed agents working on computers at the hotel counter.
Another source told US Weekly that the police intended to identify hotel staffers who had been working on the day of Payne’s death. As part of their raid, they sought documents from the hotel’s registration books and information from its computers.
The insiders added that “the hotel must provide” more security camera footage to help in the investigation.
Cops also believe that employees procured drugs for the singer and brought them in a Dove soapbox, which was found at the time of his death.
The raid comes days after Payne’s father, Geoff spoke to the case’s prosecutor Dr Andress Estaban Madrea and expressed his desire to investigate and to know what happened with his son moments before his death.
Days after Payne’s death, it was revealed that the singer had multiple drugs including crack cocaine and methamphetamine in his system when he fell to his death, according to initial toxicology reports cited by American media.
The singer suffered “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhaging,” they said.
