Kolkata Test: The first Test match between India and South Africa is being played at the Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata. South Africa’s first innings completely collapsed in front of the Indian bowling. Jasprit Bumrah has opened his claws.
India vs South Africa: Batting first, the South African team was all out on the score of 159 runs in the Kolkata Test. Due to the excellent performance by the Indian bowlers, the African team could not even cross the 200 mark. Africa collapses in front of Jasprit Bumrah
The biggest contribution in destroying South Africa’s first innings goes to Jasprit Bumrah. He gave only 27 runs in 14 overs and made 5 batsmen his victims. Ryan Rickleton, Aidan Markram, Tony DeGeorge, Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj were trapped in their net. In the entire innings, he has given runs at an economy rate of 1.93. His explosive bowling has defeated Africa.
There was no edge in Africa’s batting
There was not much edge in South Africa’s batting on the Kolkata ground. Aidan Markram scored the maximum 31 runs in the first innings. Apart from him, Viaan Mulder and Tony DeGeorge contributed 24-24 runs. 23 runs came from the bat of Ryan Rickleton. Kyle Vereen scored 16 runs and Tristan Stubbs scored 15 runs.
