In an interview with ETimes, Kanguva producer TJ Gnanavel revealed that the film was being planned in two parts since the beginning. He told that the back story of the characters will be shown in the sequel of the film. Talking about the schedule of the film’s sequel, the producer said that the pre-production of Kanguva 2 will start next year, while its shooting will start in 2026. He also told that this film will be released in the year 2027.

Ganavel said, Director Shiva has brought alive an unseen world with Kanguva, and I believe the audience will embrace it. It is envisioned as a two-part project, with a spin-off web series planned. Every character like Udharan (Bobby Deol’s character) will have a detailed backstory. ‘Pre-production of ‘Kanguwa 2’ will begin next year, filming will begin in 2026, with the target being to release in 2027.
