Due to water, forest, land and excellent quality of coal, Jharkhand is recognized not only in the country but also in foreign countries. Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, famous as Coal City, has its eyes fixed on 16 seats of Koyalanchal, parties have put in their strength in public relations, programs of central leaders, who are among the star campaigners, are being organized at a rapid pace. .

In Jharkhand, voting on 43 seats in the first phase ended on November 13, while voting on 38 seats in the second phase is to be held on November 20. In such a situation, along with 18 seats of Santhal Pargana, 16 seats of Koylanchal are going to prove to be a decisive factor in the power of Jharkhand.

Changed politics of Koylanchal

After the 2019 assembly elections, a lot has changed in the politics of Koyalanchal. Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, the party of former Chief Minister and current Jharkhand BJP State President Babulal Marandi, ceased to exist. On 17 February 2020, just a few months after the end of the 2019 elections, Babulal Marandi’s party JVM merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Along with this, AK Rai’s party Marxist Coordination Committee (MASS) has also ceased to exist in Koylanchal, MASS has merged with CPI(ML) in Koylanchal. JLKM (Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front) party has also emerged under the leadership of Jairam Mahato in Koilanchal. For these reasons, the 2024 assembly elections are going to be held in Koylanchal with a different political change and new equation compared to 2019.

Babulal Marandi’s contest with Nizamuddin

A total of 16 seats of Koyalanchal come under three districts, which include Bokaro district, Giridih district and Dhanbad district. If we talk about popular seats, Dhanwar seat under Giridih district is much discussed. State President of Bharatiya Janata Party and first Chief Minister of the state Babulal Marandi is going to face Nizamuddin Ansari of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Rajkumar Yadav of CPML. However, to spoil Babulal Marandi’s game, BJP’s rebel Niranjan Rai is contesting as an independent candidate.

Kalpana Soren competes with Muniya Devi

Talking about the second most high profile seat of Koyalanchal, this seat is Gandey. Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s MLA co-candidate Kalpana Soren is contesting from Gandey, Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Munia Devi as its candidate against her, Munia Devi is the President of the District Council of Giridih.

triangular contest in dumri

Along with this, if we talk about other seats, the political credibility of Baby Devi, wife of late Tiger Jagannath Mahato and cabinet minister in the present government, is also at stake. She is the candidate of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha from Dumri assembly seat. AJSU party, which is part of the NDA alliance, has fielded Yashoda Devi against her. However, JLKM chief Jairam Mahato has also contested this seat. For this reason, a triangular contest is being seen here.

Along with this, if we talk about other seats, in place of former minister Rajendra Prasad Singh, his son and INTUC leader Kumar Jai Mangal alias Anoop Singh is contesting from Bermo. Presently Anoop Singh is an MLA and a candidate of Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party has made Ravindra Pandey its candidate against him. Bermo is currently one of the hot seats of Koyalanchal.

Whose credibility is at stake on which seat?

Along with this, Giridih MLA cum Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Bagodar MLA cum CPI-ML candidate Vinod Kumar Singh, Jamua MLA Kedar Hazra, Gomia MLA cum candidate Dr Lambodar Mahato, Chandankiyari MLA cum candidate and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, Jharia MLA Purnima. coal mine equation

If we look at the equation of Koyalanchal, out of 16 seats in 2019, NDA was successful on 8 seats, the alliance candidates also won on the same number of seats. However, this time the political equation has changed a lot. Five MLAs who won from Koyalanchal in the 2019 assembly elections are not able to contest in the 2024 elections due to various reasons.
