It is not right to speak wrong on people’s health issue, Kejriwal attacks PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, October 29, on the birth anniversary (Dhanteras) of Dhanvantari, the god of health and Ayurveda, launched a free treatment facility of Rs 5 lakh for people aged 70 years and above. Under this Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) of the government, 6 crore elderly people of the country will get benefit. Now politics has started on this issue. In fact, PM Modi had targeted the Aam Aadmi Party of Delhi and the Mamata government of West Bengal for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. Regarding which now former Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has attacked the PM.

Kejriwal has shared a post on social media, in which he has accused the PM of lying. In his post he said that it is not right for the Prime Minister to speak wrong on the issue of people’s health. It is not right to do politics on this. Kejriwal said that under the scheme of Delhi government, every person living in Delhi gets complete treatment free of cost, no matter how much it costs. Whether it is a pill worth Rs 5 or a treatment worth Rs 1 crore, the Delhi government provides free treatment to every person. And if the PM asks, she will send him the names of lakhs of people who will benefit from it.

‘Did people benefit from the Ayushman Bharat scheme?’

Further, the former Chief Minister asked whether people benefited from the Ayushman Bharat scheme? He said that CAG found many irregularities in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. In the states where this scheme is implemented, till date he has not met even a single person who has been treated under this scheme. Kejriwal said that he requests Prime Minister Narendra Modi to study the Delhi model and instead of Ayushman Bharat scheme, implement the Delhi model all over India so that people can benefit on the ground and get help.

What did PM Modi say?

In fact, PM Modi had said that he is sad that the elderly of these two states Delhi and West Bengal will not be able to avail the benefit of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually under this scheme. The PM said that he apologizes to the elders of these states that he will not be able to serve them. The PM said that I will know about your pain and suffering but I will not be able to help you. Because the governments of Delhi and West Bengal are not implementing this scheme due to their political interests.
