ISRO Director Dr. Nilesh Desai reached Mau and interacted with 1500 children. He inaugurated STEM and Space Laboratory. Space centers operating in seven development blocks of the district have taught space science and robotics to thousands of children.
Lucknow. Space Application Center (ISRO) Director Dr. Nilesh M. Desai reached Mau on Friday. He interacted directly with about 1500 students of council schools at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Stadium and resolved their queries.
Inspire children to develop scientific thinking
During the dialogue, Dr. Desai said that scientific thinking is most important to give India a leading position in the world. He told the children that they can bring glory to the country by making a career in space science.
Inauguration of Space and STEM Laboratory
On reaching Mau, Dr. Desai inaugurated the “Dr. Nilesh M. Desai Space and STEM Laboratory” established in his name at the former secondary school Dharauli in development block Ghosi. After this he answered the children’s questions related to space, ISRO’s upcoming plans and future possibilities.
District administration expressed gratitude
District Magistrate Praveen Mishra said that it is a matter of good fortune for the children of Mau that they got the guidance of one of the top scientists of the country. Chief Development Officer Prashant Nagar said that in the coming time, children will be given better opportunities so that scientific thinking can develop in them. District Basic Education Officer Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, while thanking the ISRO team and administration, said that the children of Mau will make an important contribution to space research in the future.
Active Space Research Center in Maui
Space research centers are established in 7 development blocks of Mau district, where thousands of children are learning space science and robotics through workshops and excursions.
ISRO visit of Mau children
In May this year, 13 children selected by examination and interview from different development blocks visited ISRO’s Space Application Center in Gujarat. There he understood the structure of artificial satellites, the functioning of various sensors and interacted with senior scientists.

Chief guest in the program was senior scientist Deepak Singh (Gaganyaan), Foundation’s Govind, District Coordinator Amit Kumar Srivastava, Anil Chaurasia, Alok Singh, Arvind Pandey, Rakesh Kannaujiya, Dr. Ram Vilas Bharti, Sahendra Singh along with teachers, parents and a large number of students were present.
