BJP Protest in Kolkata Demands Immediate Release of ISKCON Monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Arrested in Bangladesh | X

Kolkata: ISKCON Kolkata on Friday had expressed concern over freezing of bank accounts of 17 monks in Bangladesh including arrested monk Chinmoy Krishna Das.

ISKCON Kolkata vice president Radharaman Das said that devotees and monks will be in more trouble with this development.

“In order to run an organization we need money. The monks, devotees need money to eat, pay the electricity bill and meet other expenses. We from ISKCON, we are to serve people. We don’t even harm an ant. I don’t know why ISKCON is being targeted in Bangladesh,” said Radharaman.

Radharaman further mentioned that they will continue with their Kirtan protest as an appeal to God for saving the minorities who are being heckled in the neighbouring country.

Notably, the government of Bangladesh has expressed concern over an alleged violent protest outside Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata by a Hindu outfit ‘Bongio Hindu Jagaran Manch’ and urged Government of India to ensure safety of Deputy High Commission and other Diplomats from Bangladesh in India.

Incidentally, Indian Secular Front (ISF) also visited Bangladesh Deputy High Commission on Friday to submit a deputation and ISF MLA Naushad Siddiqui urged the majorities in Bangladesh to take care of the minorities residing there.

Meanwhile, Subhrangshu Bhakta, director of JN Roy hospital in North Kolkata said that the hospital authorities have decided not to treat any Bangladeshi and will also not admit any Bangladesh national in the hospital.

“Providing health services is Godliness but those who can disrespect Indian National Flag, we will not treat them and admission will also not be given to anyone from Bangladesh for an indefinite period as country and national flag is beyond everything,” said Bhakta.

Welcoming the move, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari said that it is time for the Hindus of India to give a befitting reply to those who are heckling minorities in Bangladesh.
