350 players shortlist (Photo: BCCI)
IPL Auction 2026: Players’ bids for IPL 2026 will be seen on December 16. This auction will be held in Abu Dhabi, where the doors of luck can open for only 350 players and not 1355. Here 1355 means all those players who had registered their names for the IPL 2026 auction. But, after discussions with the franchises of the league, BCCI has eliminated 1005 players and has prepared a final list of only 350 players for the auction.
35 players including De Kock entered in the last minute
The shortlisted 350 players also include 35 players who have entered the auction list in the last minutes. Meaning none of them were part of the initial list of the auction. The most surprising name among those 35 new players is that of South African wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock.
It is believed that the entry of these 35 players including De Kock in the final list of the auction would have happened only on the recommendation of the franchises. De Kock has been given a place in the third lot of wicketkeeper batsman. Quinton De Kock has also reduced his base price by 50 percent for the IPL 2026 auction. This time he has kept his base price at Rs 1 crore.
Apart from De Kock, these names also included in 35 new players
Apart from Quinton de Kock, some other new faces included in the final list of the auction also include the names of Sri Lankan cricketers like Traveen Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera and Dunith Velalage.
